A lot of those Bunny Lee dubs mixed by King Tubbys from the mid 70s are still unmatched to this day. Murderous dubs. The bass drops on those riddims, out of this world. Excellent tribute. *Rise In Paradise, * Edward O'Sullivan "Bunny Striker" Lee.
Edit: I did not know Bunny got the name "Aggrovators" from Eddie Grant!!! Who knew!!?

The one thing that will forever remember about Bunny Lee how much he was liked by his peers and friends. A man of the people as you stated. Sounds like he did a super job in his producing role too. <> When you were showing the King Tubby 'Dubmaster' you mentioned that they were all Bunny Lee rhythms. Does that mean that Bunny wrote all of the songs or just the rhythms of the songs? But writing the rhythms is the same thing as writing the song is it not? That Bunny Lee & Friends looks cool. Lot of big names on it. Most of them I am now aware of thanks to your channel and your videos. {smile} Cornell Campbell's name popped up quite a few times in this video. Can you suggest a good Cornell album to check out? I am now realizing that Bunny Lee was one of the biggest names in reggae after seeing this video Doug. That Rubadub Revolution's early dancehall productions from BL looks super cool. That is a must check out. Love the cover.
Once again I am blown away at your freehand reggae knowledge Brother Doug. You raffle out the info like you have been listening and learning about it for fifty years. It is dynamite having a reggae historian in the VC. Thank you for the BL tribute~

Thanks Doug for a very informative overview of Bunny Lee's career. I did not know much about him, but I think I have a cd by Dennis Brown that he produced. I know that I have some Uniques cuts on some compilation albums. Wonderful tribute. ---Randy

Reggae has taken a beating the last few months. It’s always seems to be a celebration when any of these reggae artist had a longer life, that was a tough life working reggae in Jamaica. How many reggae albums do you think you have Doug? Great info on Bunny Lee, he definitely was important for that genre.

A fitting and comprehensive tribute to a lesser known but hugely important and influential part of the reggae scene. Fantastic knowledge download here from you Doug - thank you! I have just ordered the triple Soul Jazz compilation - I had no idea how prolific Mr Lee was - what a a legend! And fascinating insight into the birth of the 'flying cymbal' sound and the connection with MFSB - I had no idea...

I'm seriously trying to imagine a rocksteady party at Buckingham Palace. I actually think the Queen would probably enjoy it. Nice tribute here Doug, not an artist I'm too familiar with though I know Slim Smith and The Uniques from various compilations. I know the Johnny Clarke song 'None Shall Escape...' also. Amazing that Lee was the guy that brought Sly and Robbie together. 'Aggro' used to be a very common word in the UK (less so now); a variant of it was 'argybargy' which of course ended up as the title of the third Squeeze album. The whooshing 'flying cymbal' makes me think of Ringo Starr's playing on the earliest Beatles singles. Great tribute, cheers.

Peace Doug... great showcase. I don't have any official Bunny Lee releases in the library; rather random singles on compilations and production influenced tracks (Sly, Robbie, Scientist etc.). I did notice that Pressure Sounds was stacking that catalogue, and the presentations look good. Cool story on the I-Roy / Jazzbo exchanges. Stay solid.
