CRAZY WIND IN ALASKA - [Living in Alaska 95]

I've been in my share of huge wind storms and I've experienced a few that were much faster but none were quite like this! As I hiked through the mountains of Eagle River, a huge wind storm whipped through the canyon. A loud and constant roar echoed through the trees as they cracked and banged against each other like a loose log in the bed of an old pickup truck, driving down a pothole ridden road. I did what I could to capture the sounds and the sights but it really was one of those times that you HAD to be there.

For me, the best video yet. The path you shared with us and the sunset colors were absolutely 'stellar' and the bird visiting you was incredible. These are the kinds of scenes that a lot of people throughout the world can never imagine, but you are the doorway for this! So, I've watched all of your journey from LA to present, and I've come to a realization.   I thought I would want to move to Alaska for a long time.  But watching your vlogs, I realize that I have about everything you do right here in Central Pennsylvania.  Sure, I don't have the huge mountains, moose, and Northern Lights, but I do have the wilderness, the cold, (14F as I type) the snow, the howling wind, bald eagles, elk, deer, and bear, conifers, drinking water safe artesian wells, and so on.  You also got one thing I don't want, and that is the big, biting bugs.

I'm not trying to belittle what you have.  It is simply awesome up there.  Rather, it's just me realizing and feeling a little better that I live a lot like the way I had always hoped I would if I would have gone to Alaska.

So excellent Alaska winter video great blustery wind off the mountain fantastic timing  I love it!
suggestion: Bring some bird food down I bet that bird would great fully eat out of your hand as I believe he must be hungry it would make cool video cashews dried fruit nuts etc maybe ask around to see what would help that hardy beautiful bird seemed to me he was asking for some help as it was intense. try to button up some braugh carry some like 4 chemical hand warmers once you get cold it can be hard to get warm again, they may save your feet or hands. I have been out at -20deg F have it drop to -40F in seconds and a wind follow I was dressed warm it could quickly be severe so in 5 minutes exposed skin can freeze and I love the cold my guess that was 70-80mph wind gust very invigorating reminds me of a Jack Nicholson quote "wind in the face lead in the pencil"
