I’ve been waiting for a bat like Alonso to show up for the Mets for a long time now. Very exciting to see some ball players like Nimmo, McNeil, Alonso, Rosario, and Conforto starting to build an identity. For so long, the Mets have been a strong starting rotation with very low upside position players. If Cespedes can come back with any type of fire power with his old self, then that’s a pretty amazing lineup. Not to mention Lowrie hasn’t gotten back yet either. Sorry to say but Todd Frazier might have his bags packed before the All Star break.
