Set mine up today. Absolutely brilliant for the money. The power supply weighs a fair bit too so it’s obviously well made. The mono switch is an added bonus to play my old soul and reggae LPs & 45s. I’m no audiophile but instantly observed the tighter bass and what seems a wider soundstage. 👍🏻

Spartan no questions asked. What a wonderful sounding preamp even through Youtube! Wonder how it compares agains a Schiit Mani or Ifi Zen Phono which are pretty much in the same price range.

It's such a stark difference in detail and soundstage. This video convinced me to order a Spartan 15 as I have the same cartridge on a Planar 1. It should be here in a few days and I'll enjoy comparing it against my iFi Zen.

To my 78 year old ears, your above sound demo of the Spartan 5 epitomises the exact sound I have been continuously (and fruitlessly) chasing since my first Dansette experience in1962. Could you please detail every item in the rest of that system, besides the LP5x and 95ML and Tascam of course, which produced that very same sound demo, down to the interconnecting RCA and speaker cabling make and models, for which I would be forever grateful. 👃Thank you.

Yeah it's impressive for the cost as well, how does that compare to the other model at 850 is there matching it? Has a very good low noise floor.

Excellent quality. Will you be able to test the new SPARTAN 10 MM PRO? I can't wait to see it in action and I will surely end up buying one, XLR outputs and better performance than its little brother. I am on the waiting list to purchase one. I would be pretty happy with the built-in preamp but hearing this classic audio spartan preamp opens up a whole new dimension of sound! It's so crystal clear and treble heavy that I couldn't believe a vinyl record is capable of such a performance!
