1.5 L for one bail.
3 L for a single stump.

That means, MCA would have to spend 6 L.

The Haunting of Hillside Manor

As soon as Veronica stepped inside Hillside Manor, she knew something wasn't right. The grand old house had been on the market for months. She had always admired it from a distance, but up close, it seemed to exude a kind of an unease that made her skin crawl.

Veronica was a real estate agent, and she had been tasked with showing the property to a few potential buyers. It was perfect for anyone looking for a historic home with plenty of character and charm. But as soon as they started the tour, they hurriedly left without any explanations.

Veronica couldn't help but feel like the house was trying to scare people away. But she was determined to sell it and make a decent commission. Plus, she was always up for a challenge.

The grand hallway was covered with cobwebs, and the wallpaper was peeling. Despite its neglect, it was clear that Hillside Manor had been one of the grandest homes in the area. The wooden staircases led to long hallways with numerous doors. Veronica couldn't help but feel like the walls themselves held secrets. She could almost feel the house watching her every move.

Veronica spent a solid week, cleaning the house and making sure everything was in perfect condition. She had contacted potential buyers to come and see the property. However, it was a slow market, and to her surprise, there were no takers. Even her boss tried to discourage her from trying to sell the property.

"That house has been on the market for years, long before you even got into real estate. Nobody wants that house, Veronica, " her boss said as he gulped his coffee.

But the one thing her boss didn't know was that Veronica was the type of person who wouldn't back down from a challenge. Veronica felt like it was her duty to sell the house, and she was not going to stop until she did.

She spent most of her days researching the history of Hillside Manor. She found out that the house had been built in the late 1800s by a wealthy family called the Martins. They had held elaborate parties, and the house was the place to be seen. It was a hub of entertainment and an epicenter of wealth.

But then, there were rumors that the house had been cursed. It started with the death of Mr. Martin, who died mysteriously while on a business trip. The rumor soon spread that it was his own wife who had killed him. Nobody knew the full story, and the case was never solved, but it was said that the ghost of Mr. Martin haunted the house.

Veronica laughed off the rumors, thinking they were just old wives tales. After all, how could a ghost ruin her real estate career?

One evening, as Veronica was getting ready for bed in the small home she rented, she felt like someone was watching her. She brushed it off, thinking it was just her overactive imagination. But then, she heard footsteps in her hallway, and she could hear someone humming an old tune. She tried to compose herself, trying to convince herself that it was just a draft.

But when she turned off her bedroom light, there in the darkness, she saw the outline of a man standing by her window. The features were blurred, but it was unmistakably the shadow of a person. Veronica screamed and ran out of the room, and as she did, she felt someone grab her arm.

As she turned around, she saw an old man, and she recognized him as the previous owner of Hillside Manor. He had passed away a few months ago, and it was said that he had died while searching for something in the house.

"Get out!" he growled, pointing towards the front door. Veronica tried to protest, but he pushed her out of the house, and as soon as she stepped outside, the windows all shattered, the doors slam, and the floor trembled.

Veronica couldn't explain what had happened. All she knew was that Hillside Manor was not just a simple haunted house. There was something more, something sinister that was lurking within its walls. She couldn't shake the feeling that she had uncovered a dark secret, something old and powerful, and quite possibly, malevolent.

Undeterred, Veronica headed back to Hillside Manor the next day more determined to sell the house. But as she made her way into the grand hallway of the mansion, she realized that she was not alone. The mansion was full of spirits of long-dead people, each one emanating ghostly blue hue. All of them wanted her to leave.

Veronica was determined at first. She conducted a few showings, but as soon as the potential buyers got close to the house, they ran away screaming.

It wasn't just the ghosts or the fact that the house was cursed. It was also rotting away, with mold growing on the ceiling, the wooden beams, and the walls. The house was beyond repair and was a safety hazard, but Veronica refused to believe it.

She continued to hold open houses, waiting for the right buyer. But as the days went by and the house remained unsold, she began to doubt herself. Maybe the house was too old, too cursed, or too dangerous to fix. Perhaps she should cut her losses and run.

In the end, Veronica decided to abandon the sale of the house and go back to her regular real estate work. However, her experiences at Hillside Manor would never leave her, and she felt like she had been changed by the entity that resided within its walls. She realized that sometimes, there were secrets that were better left undiscovered, and that sometimes, fear was the best reason to stop trying.
