For the liquid mud... there actually exists a Mod called The Between Lands in 1.12.2 amd it has a dimension where you kind rot rot away... very good mod! But sadly isnt in newer versions... (the people are working on the update)

In a recent update Mojang added a gamerule to bedrock that pauses the game when you use the pause screen
