there are several ways in python to perform a range check using lists. you would still need to include a try statement for the presence and type check. Hope this helps.

Would a while loop that compares the user input to an array of valid inputs [0, 1, 2, 3 etc.] also be a valid method for validation of column and row input (Python 3)?
