I’m so glad they are going after these scumbags.

From his qrz page :

I was born and raised in Santa Clara Valley. I've been licensed since 1962. Previous calls: WN6FEZ and WD6FGE. I am no longer active on the air. However, I maintain a CWOP/APRS weather station

Growing up, my dad and a lot of his friends were Ham operators. A finer group of men you will never find. They were great mentors and role models for me. It's sad that there are people out there who would act like this.

I'm not offended by what you said about this guy being 65 years old. I completely agree with your and the FCCs opinion about what he was doing. It's wrong, and I would never even think about doing such a thing. But I didn't even get my license until I was 64 years and 8 months old. I'm now 75 and if I get "bored" with my life and need something to do, rather than interfering with someone's net, I go out and do a POTA activation. I didn't start doing them until the weekend of April 1-2, 2023, when the Georgia Dept. of natural Resources organized a "Georgia State Parks on the Air" event. I volunteered to activate a park on Sunday, the 2nd, got 53 contacts for my first activation and have averaged doing 1 activation per week ever since. Up until that weekend in April, I never realized how much fun doing a POTA activation could be. I have 11 activations now, and have a 3-fer coming up next week with my son, who got his General license back in February. It's my goal to activate every state park in Georgia, where I live. I've obviously got a long way to go - and that's a good thing. it will keep me busy for a couple of years.

Enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work. Jody K4EPH Ellijay, GA

As a licensed Ham of 55 years standing, I can tell you first hand that this has been going on for as long as I have been "Radio Active". It has always appeared to me that this went on on 75 meters because some guy thought the net was monopolizing "His" frequency, or, perhaps, he did not approve of the discussion at hand, or, perhaps, the participants. Back in the 1960's a CB radio operator in a local tiny village used to play music and acted as his own disc jockey every evening for about 1 hour or so. It was actually pretty funny and no one seemed to complain as he was very entertaining.

If a group holds a regularly scheduled net, it would be good to have a PACE plan for frequencies. Primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency plan. That is just good preparedness planning.

If this is the same guy that I have heard interfering with the WARFA net, it was pretty atrocious what was being broadcasted. Any interference is bad, but this was next level offensive to anyone trying to use radio during that time that heard it. Glad to know something is being done to stop that behavior. 73.

I looked up his old calls and I saw an arrl article about him interfering back in 2016 as well under WD6FGE.

We have a couple of questions in the Canadian Basic question bank that pertain to moving freq and nets. Obviously, 1st and foremost every ham has an equal right to the frequencies allowed by their license (that's a question in the question bank) but also there is a question that asks "If you are the net control station of a daily HF net, what should you do if the frequency on which
you normally meet is in use just before the net begins?" Answer? "Call and ask the occupants to relinquish the frequency for the scheduled net operations, but if
they are not agreeable conduct the net on a frequency 3 to 5 kHz away from the regular net frequency" Another question we have is "If a net is about to begin on a frequency which you and another station are using, what should you do?" Answer? "As a courtesy to the net, move to a different frequency".

The whole damn point is that it's a hobby, treat eachother well and things just go a lot smoother. These guys acting like assholes with their harmful interference are a big downer for anyone wanting to actually enjoy themselves.

Basement dwellers. They canceled the Price Is Right. I love it, Jason.

We all have a handy thing called a VFO, if you don’t like nets move on ! I’m not a huge net fan myself, but it’s not worth the hassle, just move on 73” brother 🤟

My only problem with your theory is the age. At 65 they can regularly talk about their medical issues and their gardens.

They are X club members that have hurt little feelings! Or they are drunks with radios ! Poor babies !

Very happy to see this. If they can do something about the 7200kc gang, we might actually start to get some of the HF bands cleaned up a bit.

I have never heard anyone interfere with our local net, I guess we are lucky

Dear Jason, I have had my Tech license for under a week. It is a sad commentary that someone went through the testing process, and now uses his PRIVILEGE in a manner specifically not sanctioned by FCC rules. I have no concern about overreach by FCC - BUT - that is me. This is a true public service on your part - thank you. And, thank you for your endorsement of good manners - when people approach you with RESPECT. ‘nuff said
