Nicely done review. ...New Subscriber
As a retired guy on a tight budget fixed income, I purchased my DWS7491RS at a pawn shop for $350 out the door. Everything was there, squared up and appeared to be well taken care of. I am remodeling a detached garage into a woodworking shop and I am very, very pleased with it. While I was there for the table saw, I also came across a "like-new" $139, 18mm Bosch brad-nailer and bought it for $45 out the door. If you're not too proud to buy-used, stick with higher quality manufacturers and are willing to be patient, there are great deals to be had at pawn shops, estate sales and yard sales.

*Just completed a big trim project on my house **MyBest.Tools** Performed very well. Also appreciate how easy it is to move, set up and store with the integrated stand. No more cutting wood on my knees.*

I’ve had this saw for a year and love it! The fence is rock solid and overall has plenty of power. You are right, it’s a bit pricey but well worth the investment.

I have the same saw, took a wide piece of blue painters tape and put it across the bottom and up both sides of the miter gauge and it took all the slop out of it. Very tight and snug.

Recently got one of these after many months of research and thinking. Very happy with it. Straightforward assembly, but lining up the bolt holes when attaching the saw to the carrier was problematic! Another potential stumbling point in assembly is in the same stage of the process. Note that legs on the carrier are on different angles, and unless you want to be stumbling over the legs while using the saw, be sure the nearly vertical legs are on the operator side of the machine! Don’t ask me how I know! My instructions didn’t mention this! The alignment of the blade to the miter slot was out .005” over the length of the blade, which isn’t really bad considering it’s a portable unit. One of the best things about this saw is that everything is adjustable, so I tweaked that misalignment out. Then the fence was around .020” out of parallel, but once again, there’s adjustability to zero that out, so I did. There are many YT vids that complain about the side of the fence not being 90 degrees to the table, but mine almost spot on, not enough to be of any consequence to me. Keep in mind this isn’t a $5, 000 cabinet saw, and is intended for job site use, and as it came straight out of the box, it was plenty good for that type of work! All the adjustability built into the saw however, makes it possible to turn this into a real shop MVP! I’m very happy with my purchase!

FYI this model also has a "kickback safety hook" that attaches to the rear of the blade guard.

Hitachi/Metabo makes a saw that is a virtually exact clone of this one for several hundred dollars less. It's been around for several years, so I'm honestly not sure who us ripping off whom. Anyway, it's an alternative to consider. I just got one a week ago, seems good so far.

When using the miter I just put slight pressure to the left or right when sliding and it tracks in a perfect straight line dow that one side. To me thats easier than trying to make it perfectly snug and have it get in a bind occasionally from sawdust.

I just returned this saw for the second time in just a week. I just can't seem to get my hands on one with a fence that is 90 degrees to the table. In both cases, the top portion of my fence sits closer to the blade than the lower portion. I've spent hours unpacking and repacking these saws and attempting to make adjustments. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to adjust the fence up and down so it's perpendicular to the table. I called Dewault. I was told I have two options: Return the saw or send it to a repair center. I'm considering trying for a third saw, as I expect the same junk from the other big brands.

I've had mine for a year...power switch stopped working. Unfortunately, even though Default covers it under warranty, they couldn't find a local device provider in my area and require me to ship it back which is extremely inconvenient because it's size. Will be cheaper and easier to order the switch, if I can find a replacement. Lost work is money out of my So I've already paid for it twice.

Do you know what is the width of the 2 miter track?

Hey, at 2:57 you are demonstrating the thin fence. Are you able to put the square (or something flat) on the fully extended fence with thin fence set as a support/extension? Does it look leveled with the surface of the table? On mine, rails are sagging and that results in a dip. Especially when the fence is on the left hand side. Even moving the fence itself (left hand side) on the table's surface feels like dragging. Are you btw aware of a fix for that? Thanks

Do you know if an after market miter gauge would maker a tighter fit in the slot?

Would this work on a 15 amp circuit without tripping the breaker or do you need to have a 20 amp circuit?

You know DeWalt knows that their miter gauge is junk yet they do nothing about it. All the other makes have the same junky miter gauge. Bosch, Skil, Makita, Rigid. I`m sure that people who purchase this saw would even pay more to have a functioning miter gauge. Maybe if one of these brands stepped up their game, the rest will follow.

Why 10” inch table saw vs 8.5” table saw? What kind of projects 10” can do but 8.5” can’t?

You should have ripped at least one piece of wood as a demo.
