Burning wood during a power outage is always best!👍
Can't ever go wrong with a Honda and congrats on the unit!
I have a generator safety transfer switch right beside the breaker box. Am able to plug the cord from the generator outside and run all the essentials in the house. Water, heat, freezers, fridges, and select lights/outlets. Sure beats having extension cords ran all over the house with doors/window cracked for cord access.

Very nice review, just bought one myself yesterday. I hope that there are plenty of Honda dealers just across the border from California, in Nevada and Oregon. 😀

Great presentation, and great generator. I had a 2200I Honda during the freeze we had in Texas and shortly afterwards bought a second the companion for redundancy and more power when connecting them in parallel. During the freeze I already had a 2KW "solar generator" along with the Honda which saved our bacon since we lost power for more than a week. The solar generator was great until we had no sun for several days and the Honda generator would charge my solar generator in about 2 hours since it was pure sine wave . This allowed me to save the fuel for the Honda's because I would run it for a couple of hours until my solar generator would be fully charged since it is able to handle 1800 watts input from AC. This became crucial since all gas stations were inoperable due to power not being available to run the pumps.

After the freeze I decided to convert both generators to propane. It became tedious running the generators every 2 months to make sure the fuel would not clog the carburetor which it did even though I would empty the fuel and used non-ethanol fuel . Converting to propane was expensive with the propane kits costing $300 but very well worth it since propane can be stored for years without going bad. Best part if you run out of propane you can always add gasoline to continue running it. Redundancies are a good thing, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

This presentation was very informative. Cleared up a few questions for us.
Our first exposure to the Honda generator was four years ago when new water mains were installed under our street. The water table was high. The contractor dug a hole in front of the house, and a Honda generator powered a sump pump for the entire summer. it was beat up by the end of the job, but it still ran, and it was very quiet.

Nice unit. I have the older Honda 3000iS model and it runs like a champ. So quiet and always starts right up when I need it.

One thing I think all generators need is a place to chain them for security. The handle can be just cut off on the plastic case ones.
Super nice generator!!
Thanks to your son for sharing!

I have a love hate relationship when your son geeks out on a product. He describes it so well it turns a want into a need like the last tool kit he showed when installing your brake controller.

Your son is smart dude!! Great having both a gas generator and power station with solar panels. I have a Ryobi 8500W that I can run most of the house with and I just got a Bluetti 800W that’s awesome.

I got the Honda 2000 inverter 10 years ago. Very handy to have. I also have a whole house transfer switch with a 7500. Much easier then running all the cords. Just can’t run the big loads. An oven and stove for me. Powers my well pump just fine, but you have to make sure your wired correctly for it. Still keep the Honda 2000 for other emergencies. Mostly camping, remote projects, events, lend to family.

Good day Chris and Bryce. Excellent video! You can’t go wrong with purchasing anything Honda you’re going to pay for it but you get quality. 27 years ago I bought my first Honda and still drive one today. If I were to buy an inverter or generator, it would be a Honda. Cheers 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦

Being prepared is always a good thing.. my dad has an industrial diesel generator on stand-by for when power goes out..

Thank you for showing this and giving your opinion of it. I have 2 of the EU 3000is and so smooth and quiet.

I had an EU3000 for my 5th wheel 37' RV, and it was great! I loved it! Unfortunately, I could not use it for my rural property, because it doesn't generate 240V; it won't run my water pump, so that's a showstopper for me. Got a 7800 watt generator as a "whole house" solution, it handles everything except for the electric oven, which is a non-issue on an emergency use basis. The setup has been in place for years, electronics don't seem bothered.

When you live north of 8 in Wisconsin you need a whole home generator as the power goes out a lot. My Kohler blew up after 4 days of running but my electrician had me up and running in 5 hours on a Sunday with a new 20 K Cummings/Onan, can't beat that service! Great video Chris!

There is a 6 circuit transfer switch that allows you to pick the circuits that you want and then you hard wire the plug to the outside wall. No cords running through the house.
