Super Probotector: Alien Rebels Video Walkthrough

This is a video walkthrough / runthrough / playthrough / etc of the SNES game Super Probotector: Alien Rebels. This is the PAL version of Contra III: The Alien Wars.

Obviously the big difference between this and US release is that the characters and enemies are robots. The stages are the same and so are the bosses (and that evil dog enemy....)

After a bit more practice, I think I was able to take down that second top-down boss quicker than in my other video...Practice makes perfect ;) (though, to be fair, so does an unannounced amount of attempts and swearing...)

This game was hard on solo, even harder on co-op but my friend and I still did it!

If I had made a blooper video showing off my many failed attempt runs, it would have most likely been one of my longest videos...

I suppose after playing nonstop for a few days trying to get things just right, I was bound to eventually get it right....It helps when you have no life... :P

Well, I'm not really much of a kid anymore...I've been playing the US version of the game for quite some time now. I will admit that this and the other version took quite a few attempts. You'll notice that I sort of don't go all gung-ho on that weird anthill boss thing...I know a lot of people will waste a few lives and just run into the middle of it, but what I did was what I knew worked...Perhaps there was a better way that wouldn't take as long, but in the end it all worked out....

I think no SNES action game could ever beat Conra Hard Corps. Also, no scrolling flying shooter from the SNES could beat Gynoug or Thunder Force IV from Mega Drive's catalogue.
Sega's Probotector was ways more inventive and diverse and Sega's Contra was the greatest Contra ever. I would say, Mega Drive's only Castlevania was also the greatest in diversity and inventiveness.

My cousin and i have beaten this game so many times on hard mode but still an awesome game.
SaikyoMog if you want more of a challenge, play Sunset Riders. Its also a great game and is harder than Alien rebels, even on normal mode

A lot of fellow Americans hate the censoring, but I like the robots better than the humans. They're much more interesting.

That was always a favorite game on the SNES. I'll have to get around to doing the arcade version eventually....

One of my favorite moments which I thought was funny as hell is on the train level when someone is playing as Cormano (in the arcade version) and you defeat the boss, he'll actually catch the hat (or at least he did when I played) and swap his old hat for it. He'll even be wearing it from then on. I always thought that was a nice touch :P

this was a real game for hardcore gamers back in time. still not finding this mechanics in 2D game nowadays... everything here is masterpiece

I got my cart still and play on hard with no extra lives other than the 3 you start out with. Perfer the Canadian version with the 2 dudes who I think is Dutch and Billy from predator 1.

I do have to say... I cannot picture myself ever beating any of the Probotectors without any cheats, let alone Super Probotector without any cheats at all. Call me a loser if you will, but the designers of these games were short of a few nuts and bolts.

Robots look worse. I have no idea why the PAL version decided to change their appearance in the first place.

PAL is slower than NTSC so the walking and play is slow
