Ep. 2 of Syne Shorts, "Calendar": World Oceans Day.

"June 8th is World Oceans Day, proposed by Canada in 1992 to help conserve the world’s oceans.
Oceans give us oxygen and food. Their currents distribute heat around the world, regulating climate and weather patterns
They are home to an immense variety of life, from the tiny phytoplankton to the titanic blue whale.
Sadly, human activity has impacted even the most remote ocean areas.
Pollution, global warming, overfishing, and habitat destruction threaten all ocean life, and, in effect, all life on Earth.
Our oceans connect and protect us, and now we must protect them. "

Pendlum's Pick:
This microscopic ocean plant,
The tiny phytoplankton,
Produces most of our oxygen;
If you meet, be sure to thank them!
