Let’s French with each other. Today, Thomas and James are with the team in the UK driving the Alpine A110. A lightweight mid-engined sports car focused purely on joy. Packing 252hp of 1.8l 4-cylinder heat, it’s not slow. But is it good enough to sign a petition to bring it over to North America? Watch the episode to find out as Thomas and James take it on the Welsh hills and dodge sheep!

Videography: Karston Chong and Daniel Mason
Editing: Daniel Mason
Sound: Harrison Dickson, Daniel Mason
Magical Genius Logistics Planners: James Engelsman and Joey Alford
Was present: Thomas Holland

The storage spaces have been removed so that you do not bring in any unnecessary weight😂

13:47 burst out laughing and had to pause with "In France, one egg is always enough (un oeuf)"

The Boot of the vehicle actually gets really hot, when you drive a little.. apparently reaches 60 degrees Celsius with ease.

drove this into the alps, and our sandwiches felt freshly baked for lunch.

So I have been flirting with the idea of trading in my Megane 275 Trophy for an A110 for a while now. After watching this I have to do it now, the car review gods have given it the stamp of approval.

“Every pound that you save, it is pound of fun that you have” sounds like my Dietitian in every single sessions 😂

Hi viewer from France here, having talked to a couple of the engineers who worked on the A110 the main reason why it didn't come and won't come to the US is that it won't pass the crash test with the large SUV taken into account. They have tried it already and tested the A110 in the US but they thought that redesigning the car would be too expensive for them. Alpine is still a small company and has a smaller budget to develop their car so cost are important for them (the engine is sourced from a Megan RS, the volume controls are from a Clio). Hope this helps love your videos.

The car maker Legend Gordon Murray drives one of these Alpine A110 s as his daily. That`s some recommendation right there.

James May described this as a mini supercar and he's so right. It's a supercar that is useable and you get to have all of the fun on the road without losing your license.

There really just isn't a better, more entertaining duo than Thomas and James on youtube.

We were extremely lucky to get it in Australia until our safety regulators stop it being imported for a side impact regulation no other country had yet implemented. I have one and l love it. The auto is amazing how it downshifts, how accelerating holds the gear and holds the revs. If you hold the sport button it goes into track mode. I love how it is unassuming most people don’t realise it is a sport car. Glad you got to drive one. It is a shame the US and Canada missed out on it.

Really enjoyed this one! From intro to outtakes, it’s among the classics! Thanks to all who had a hand in this. It’s not easy keeping it fresh all the time.

I have been asking for this for a while. I'm glad to see it finally happening. Reviewing cars from across the pond and seeing just how much North America is missing out on.

I'm old enough to remember the A310s of the 70's and 80's.
My friend had a 1977 V6 in the mid 80's and it was a beast.
The new A110 looks, equally as good by todays standards, as my friend's A310 was at nine years old in 1986.
