An apology is not something that you say in a way that can barely be heard or understood, that you laugh through, and that minimises or totally ignores the true fault. It is what we have unfortunately come to expect from the BBC.
I hope Labour MPs and others now refuse to appear on the programme.
Whether people like Diane Abbott or not, she deserves support against this kind of treatment and anyone who believes in honesty in broadcasting should care about this whatever party they support.
