I needed help and immediately thought of your name.. so here I am! with this question, I hope you can help 😁
I'm currently making a template for my future projects and I'm preparing my sends for EQ/comp/ reverb/delay/etc.. Would you say creating each effect should be specific to drums/vocals/or guitars separately? Like if I had an EQ that cuts off the low end, and I wanted to add that same low cut to a guitar, should I make a separate EQ send so that there are not being sent to the same bus?
Or a reverb for a snare... could i use that same reverb for vocals??🤔 I've always avoided using the same reverb for my drums and vocals. Please help @musictechhelpguy I need your guidance 🙏

It depends. If you want all of the tracks in the sub mix to have the same plug-in on them, then yes. It saves processing power because you're not putting that plug-in on every track individually, just 1 on the aux track.

that's helpful.

Thanks for the tuts, very helpful. I did send a group of channels to one bus but when i put an effects (compressor especially) on that bus doesn't give the same result if i put the same effect in each of this channels, My question, if there is a tip to get it right or i'm missing something!!
Thanks in advance and keep it up.

Heyman,

first of all thankyou for this helpfull tutorial about submixes. That's alle needed 2 know in this daw. I saw that your CPU is running to the max. Can I ask you how much work memory you got on your pc? and what prossessor you got? Because I constantly got the same problem and I have an i7 Dualcore, with 16GB workmemory.

I hope your still active to response on this comment.

Grtz, Chenzo!

Does one save processor power as well or, are there any other advantages?

Nope, you won't. By making the Output of a track a Bus, and making that Bus go to an Aux track, you are routing 100% of the signal to the Aux. So by lowering the volume of the Aux track, you are effectively lowering the audio track as well. However, if you SEND signal to an Aux with a Send, then YES you will hear the original track's volume, plus any adjustments on the aux track.

When I click 'stereo out' I don't get any popup or options.. Why ?

by routing a group of tracks to an aux and controlling the volume of the group with the aux, wont you still hear the volume of each individual tracks that you sent to the bus, thats what confuses me :D

So you're sending them to bus 4, but whats the bus 1's highlighted on "sends"??
