RIP Gas Trucks! 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV
The bold GMC Hummer EV and the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV share an electric engine, but the latter is a more traditional interpretation of the electric pickup truck. Some may find the feature evocative of the now-discontinued Avalanche pickup truck from the early 2000s. A midgate design option allows users to fold down the partition between the bed and the cab for added storage space. A big battery pack is stated to have a range of up to 450 miles on a single charge, and a battery with a range of 100 miles may be charged in just 10 minutes using DC fast-changing technology. The Silverado EV will be able to tow up to 10,000 pounds and handle loads weighing up to 1440 pounds thanks to dual electric motors that can produce up to 754 horsepower and provide standard all-wheel drive. The Ford F-150 Lightning and newer models like the Rivian R1T and the Tesla Cybertruck are fierce rivals to the Silverado EV.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
At the time of its release, the Chevrolet Silverado EV will be available in the price-leading Work Truck (4WT) form in addition to the off-road Trail Boss and equipped RST trims. However, Chevrolet has stated that mid-range trims would be introduced later to the roster in order to complete it. The WT variant does not come equipped with many of the truck's other great features. Instead, we would shoot high for the Trail Boss or the RST, or we would wait until a nicely outfitted mid-range trim became available.
EV Motor, Power, and Performance
The Silverado EV will only be powered by two electric motors, in contrast to the Hummer EV, which comes with up to three electric motors. The configuration should still deliver strong acceleration performance, and Chevrolet claims a horsepower rating of up to 754 hp for the top-spec trim; the WT trim, which is the entry-level model, makes do with 510 hp. All-wheel drive is a basic feature, while a rear-wheel steering system and an adaptive air suspension are available as add-ons. Additionally, a set of enormous and aesthetically pleasing 24-inch wheels is one of the available accessories. The suspension of the Silverado EV will most likely be upgraded in the Trail Boss variant, which will result in the addition of locking differentials, hefty all-terrain tyres, and other adventure-ready components. During our test drive of the 4WT model, we were blown away by how quickly it accelerated, and we anticipate that it will reach 60 miles per hour in just 5.4 seconds. The truck has a comfortable ride, and its general handling is satisfactory for a vehicle of its size, with precise steering and braking that inspires confidence in the driver.
Towing and Payload Capacity
The highest amount of weight that the Silverado EV is capable of towing is 10,000 pounds, and it can carry a payload of up to 1,440 pounds.

I will never get an EV, not practical and cost way too much.
