Scott Van Pelt says he doesn't "believe for a second" that Urban Meyer is done coaching football after Meyer announced that he will retire following the Ohio State Buckeyes' Rose Bowl Game vs. the Washington Huskies. Van Pelt mentions Meyer's health as a concern, but has a "really strong suspicion" that he will eventually return to coaching.

I wish ESPN would go away and retire, along with USC, Notre Dame, Florida and any other school who's getting down on their knees begging Urban Meyer to come and coach for their team. ( pathetic)

You guys and this USC thing are full of it.
It's ok for you to dream I suppose. The man isn't going to coach USC.

If he does anything he will take another position at Ohio state as a coordinator or some staff position like Archie. Kirk said it best when he said don’t mind the media...they don’t know urban. He is a buckeye, at home and this was his dream job. He is not a Norte dame guy and he said he will never do pro.

I used to go to ESPN.com daily. Now, if I make it there once a week its a good week for ESPN. Deleting comment sections on your platform was a huge mistake in my honest opinion. It just makes no sense not to seek and want fan feedback on your platform. What are you scared of ESPN?

I'm an OSU fan and I think He'll coach again. And I'll have no problem with it. It's in his blood. He can't

Urban Meyer did the right thing politically and left Ohio State. Zach Smith and Brent McMurphy would have kept attacking him and the only way to help his beloved Buckeye football team was to leave. We all know he loves the sport and when the chance comes like USC etc and he is healthy, why would he turn it down? USC is a heavyweight waiting for its chance to come back and needs a coach.

Assistant AD following the Rose Bowl says otherwise. ESPN sucks.

I could see Cryers maybe going to USC, unless he's afraid of Chip Kelly.  He was fine in the SEC until St. Nick started beating him, got sick and had to retire.  Never really dominated the Big Can't Count (10) Conference.  Been pushed around by other national powers lately, shutout 31-0 against Clemson in the CFP semifinals, lost at home 31-16 to Oklahoma,  got absolutely curb stomped 55-24 by Iowa and 49-20 by Purdue.  Beating Meatchicken 7 straight times means nothing.  Meatchicken hasn't been relevant in college football this century.  Might as well try the PAC 12.

I think that it is a health issue, plain and simple. Urban Meyer likes family and is not sure about his health. I doubt he will return to coaching, but if he does, Ohio State might take him back. Other than that, everything else is pure speculation. He retired for health reasons (that cyst in his head.)

Went from an avrg program to a Premiere Program at Ohio State.

It’s one thing to save a program, it’s another thing to save a conference. Urban should go to the PAC 12 and save USC and save the pac 12 from becoming non-existent in the playoffs

He might take a year or two to get his health under control but he'll be back

Please for the love of God come to USC. Develop these kids to their best abilities. Dominate the Pac-12 and restore the glory. USC needs to be in the conversation again every year like it was back in the 00's. It's the only blue blood on the West Coast. Forget Stanford, Oregon, and Washington.
