You know something is seriously wrong when even Creed finds it offensive.

David tells him straight to his face that he is not getting the corporate job (obviously because of his terrible interview and revealing Jan’s impending termination) and yet Michael goes forward from that point until the Deposition episode believing and proclaiming that he aced the interview, that he was the top contender, had the job in his palm and that he withdrew on his own terms.

Honestly, you gotta love and appreciate that level of self-delusion.
