Everyone keeps whining about upgrading the 686 CI single piston engine with a bigger twin but that would be a huge mistake. The Viking has a boatload of torque off the mark with the CVT delivering real world power that doesn't drop off until your doing 40 KPH or more. Seriously, the real difference for some people is the need for speed as opposed to the more practical power requirements of an ATV... so buying a bat mobile that goes 100 KPH down a trail is fine if you want to play Bat Man and Robin but if you really want to grind up a trail without having to look thorough a metal cage... but a Viking and keep it humming with the 700. The other thing to keep in mind is how little Yamaha has changed the engineering specs for the Viking outside minor changes since 2014... which in engineering circles means they pretty much got it right the first time.

They need to put the Rmax 1000 twin in the Viking.

Yamaha updating to the 850 or the 1000! grizzly or viking? not likely to happen

Yamaha is losing customers over leaving the Viking and Grizzly behind. The Grizzly should have been redesign years ago and the Viking should have gotten the 850 as soon as it was designed. Why did just the Wolverine get it.
Too late now Yamaha you guys dropped the ball just as bad of Suzuki congratulations. It'll never happen now that Biden is pushing for electric vehicles in the USA.
