My Chihuahua was a runt. I got him for my birthday when I was 10 years old. My Grandparents brought him down in a box wrapped in a shirt. He was so small I wasn't sure what kind of animal he was until I asked & they said he was a dog. He looked like a chipmunk but I knew they wouldn't give me one as a pet. My Grandparents had him @ their house for a month or more. He was so young that my grandmother was feeding him with a handkerchief soaked in milk because he was still suckling. Eventually she was able to get him to eat table scraps & adding in more & more puppy food. We grew up together riding in my bicycle basket, going to church in Mom's beach bag, & coming with us on vacation. He lived to be 21 years old & got quite gray.

I don't know why people overlook the runts of litters; they usually end up being the absolute best companions ever!
All my animals are rescues and my dog Shadow was the runt and so is Charlie.
Shadow pup passed away January 15th and while he may have been the runt, he grew to be bigger than all his siblings and was an absolute once in a lifetime dog that I am so grateful I got to meet. We shared a decade together and he is the sole reason my son loves animals as much as he does. I love and miss him so much ❤
Charlie is 2 now I believe and was also the runt of the litter and even had to be bottle fed because he was so small. Now he's as tall as me and such a silly yet devoted boy. My family is so lucky nobody else wanted them because I can't imagine how life would have been without them.

Why people don't want him I, m dying from his cuteness

My Father gave me- 55 years ago - a white miniature poodle when I was 17...he was 5 yr old and from a home where he was no longer wanted.
He was my loving companion till he died in his early 20s. He even went on my honeymoon with me, we were never apart. Highly intelligent, empathetic and perfectly behaved.
( WHO could have given him away??)
This pupper looked like my boy, it's been many years ago and I've had 3 other small dogs over the years all dearly loved but he was MY first dog.

I love ppl who have lots of money and are famous AND able to buy dogs from breeders but decide to adopt instead because it just shows that they don't care about money, they care about kindness. Ppl need to know what dogs that are being sold in pet shops and the ones from the breeders who overbreed the mom go through.
