My whole family was affected by WWII. My uncle Jerzy Korczak was a Holocaust survivor and lost his mother during a Nazi raid when he was only 14. Eventually, he was rescued by Irena Sendler in Warsaw. I was in Cracow in spring of 2023 during the movie festival where Jesse was promoting his directorial debut; can't forgive myself I didn't somehow share my uncle's story with him. Not only it could be useful in this film, but also just keeping the memory about these events alive is so vital.
