Absolute clownfiesta from refs. I will not say that Czechia would win, but if refs will ignore some obvious rules, then noone can take this tournament seriously.

The refereeing in this game was abhorrent. Sure the Czech Republic didn’t play their best but these ridiculous decisions could well have cost them.

Canada played well enough on their own, there was no need for them to be given that third goal for free, refs...

The Czech team did play really messy in the second part and it has confused Canada. The win was deserved well for the Canadian team overall, no arguments about it. But referees were... Not mentally there?

I’m not usually the type to go and say that we lost because of Refs and Canada was better in more parts of the game BUT these refs? They honestly did a horrible job. To me Canada won 2:1.
Let’s hope for good refs in quarterfinals or we won’t have a chance at all. Congratulations Canada, good luck against Finland. I will root for Finland a bit more cause European family ✌️❤️

Didnt know "Team Canada" now includes the refs too.
No call on a bloody penalty. No call offside.
With how penalties often decide these international matches, its nothing short of direct influencing a match to get Canada to win. After all, we have already seen it in their match with Swiss.

Referees+Canada vs Czech 3:1. Probably Canada would have won anyway but now it looks like they didn't deserve it. And i dont count that stick in face of Czech player. Blood was on ice and refree - nah its ok. If canadian player go 5+20 Czech will have big chance to score. Same does refrees in match USA vs Sweden

Okay I know that everybody here is about the call at the end, so I would like to chime in. It is true that Canada absolutely outplayed Czechia, but I don't think this should even matter. The fact that the game was 2:1 still until the very end is what matters. Like the fact that Canada played better doesn't change the fact that the game was still close scorewise until the last minute even though it could've been because of a great goalkeeper. So this is the reason why the uncalled offside really pisses me off (even though Canada might score the goal anyway), and the fact that it's not the first time referees in this tournament made such a blunder, is essentialy the core of the problem. The match Canada-Switzerland was essentially packed with these mistakes (the uncalled stomp by the Canadian player for instance). Fortunately this wasn't the most important match nor was the aforementioned, but now comes the play off, the time where this will absolutely matter, and the fact that I even have to be worried about such a problem is really sad for international hockey. Anyway well played Canada :)

Canada is the underdog in this series. I just want them to make a decent showing. Not expecting them to win but as long as they play hard.

Prior to this game, Canada has been dreadful. True, poor refs, and some chippy play. But overall, Canada played better this game than prior games and starts to show some hockey skills. If the Cda team continues so, they have a chance to advance.

Hi, Canadian fan here. I thought I could get away from horrible refereeing here, because the NHL has been very bad. But they're bad here too. What a horribly officiated game.

The play should have been dead on our 3rd goal. Ridiculous
