Panasonic S1 and S1R FIRST LOOK!!! Full Frame Mirrorless - PHOTOKINA 2018

Everyone has been waiting for the news to drop about the new Panasonic S1 and S1R cameras....and now we have it! In this video, we get a hands-on look at a prototype unit and go over the known specs. Unfortunately, there is still lots of information to still come out, but for now, this seems like a promising system! In this video, in the end, we also feature the new Panasonic Leica 10-25mm f/1.7 lens, which will be an amazing lens for MFT cameras!

There are still so many questions about this camera. I tried to get the answers you all want... but Dan wouldn’t budge. If you look at his body language you may be able to tell if this camera records 10bit.... :)

I love this video. Not only did you get him to release a lot of key information but you had him working for you at one point holding the mic 3:41 lol. The video matches my sense of humor with the laugh edit at the end and the book closing. Classic.

Crazy that Panasonic did not incorporate the fully articulating screen in this camera after having it in GH5! Whoever made that call must be nuts! The one true ergonomic advantage of the GH5, beyond its customizable buttons and small size was its flip out screen. I so wanted to buy this camera since I love my GH5 but I need a flip out screen for my type of shooting! So disappointing that the L series won't have it! All I wanted was the GH5 in Full Frame with Phase Detect AF. Non of that! Oh well. At lest it closes the chapter on my Panasonic experience after owning GH3-GH5! I've preordered the Canon R. I'll see how that works. Thanks Panasonic for GH3-GH5! Now I have to deal with Canon's BS intentional handicaps for that full frame articulating screen.

I know Dan isn't ALLOWED to say much, but your light roasting plays a very important part for the passionate community--it's gently putting pressure on Panasonic to deliver on all the things that we expect of the camera. Props man.
I shoot the A7III but still miss my GH5's incredible run-and-gun capable IBIS. I think the most important pre-requisite for whether or not I'll invest in the new system is how good the IBIS is. If it's not that great, I'll probably stick with the GH5, get the new 10-25 and get rid of the 18-35 (as you've alluded to). The GH5 + 10-25 is one incredible one lens kit for the travel videographer.

We've seen so many new releases in the past year, but this might be the one that actually interests me. Other than the dfd autofocus, this thing should be killer. Panasonic knows how to make a camera. This with sigma glass 🤤
