Ok, everyone calm down for a second. This isn't a system that grows life from nothing. It uses a fetus that's already grown inside of an actual womb (In this case the one of a sheep), and it so to say 'continues' growing it. They work on this system at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and it is supposed to be used for premature babies, so they can grow outside of their mother's womb. If this system surpasses it's testing stage, it is going to save a tremendous amount of those 'too early born' babies.

A lot of people in the comments think this is bad for some reason or will go too far. If you watch the whole video, she says that raising a baby from embryo in an artificial womb is for all we know impossible. All this does is help premature babies not die right away.

I watched them do it in a hospital in Japan back in '97. But they're using the stem cells that they from the umbilical cords in the centrifuge to regrow a whole leg of an accident victim and then they laser grafted it back on 18 months later is walking around like he never lost his leg.

It's just a more advanced incubator in other words. I never heard them mention the detail that the calves DIED after 4 weeks in the bag.

I'm surprised this didn't happen already... When you think about it a womb is basically a bag filled with a liquid with a certain composition at a certain temperature with a collection of cells that later feed off of an umbilical cord. When you think about dialyses and how we can already artificially sustain life, it makes you wonder why nobody put the right parts together to make this happen already.

This could be groundbreaking, it can be used for both good and evil and both of those are up to interpretation
