Then LG came out with the fast tap, that had little letter keys in between the numbers. Loved that phone.

I was a master at T9 I would text in my desk and not even look, then I would tell friends to call me so I could show off whatever rap song I had as a ringtone. And then apologize to the teacher and class knowing I felt like the shit lol 😂

Lol I went kicking and screaming into the texting world!! My brother had to show me how to put spaces between words on my nokia flip phone!

That and you paid for each text individually, and if your text went over a certain number of characters (let’s say 60) it would send as 2 seperate messages at that cut off point and if it was really long sometimes it could be like 4 texts to get it all across as it wasn’t just you had to pay for a second text if it was over 60 characters and then you were cool to just keep going, it was you had to paid for an additional text for EVERY 60 characters 😂. (Ok so maybe it was more like 180-250 depending on if you had an average to great plan/pre paid sim from a quality company, but if it was a really shitty bottom of the barrel from a shitty company/provider it might have been 60 characters. I think some of the really fancy plans would let you have it by words instead of characters, but normally that wasn’t the case. It was why IM/txt talk was invented, because it would be cheaper ((and soooo much quicker when you had to press the button multiple times for most letters and also pause for a few seconds to add a second letter if the next letter you needed was on the same key as the one as the last haha)) to write ‘omg’ or ‘hru’ or ‘wft’ or ‘coz’ instead of taking time and spending the potential extra money to write, “oh my god/how are you/what the fuck/because” so there is no excuse for it any more 😂😂😂 we have full key boards + emojis now hahaha
