I'd say about half your points are on the money. Many of the points are for the drunks and womanizing crowd, not all foreigners. I've lived here for 25 years, started coming in 1982. Haha, this is so bizarre. Who are these Thai women spending their time with?

This has not been my understanding at all, but then I’ve lived and talked with Thai people for over 15 years. So maybe the Thais (and farang) who I mix with are from a different part of the world or have different upbringings, who knows?

1 We like to criticise others? Not really. However, Thais do tend to be quite critical of farang.
2 We nitpick. Yes, but usually to do with standards of quality – when buying a car or building a house or installing electrical system (with a proper ground).
3 We think we are always right. Yes, that’s true.
4 We are stingy. Not really. We are very generous towards our friends, partners and family. We buy our Thai gf/spouse a car, household appliances, help with setting up a business or go to college or travel to visit their family, etc. etc. We also tend to cover the costs of meals and entertainment when taking out friends and family. Many of us are not well off, that is true – and that means we tend to be more careful about our money. Also, some Thai women (and men) seem to try to take advantage of us, wanting the latest iPhone (when they already have a perfectly decent phone) or spend money unnecessarily.
5 We like to grumble and moan? No, that’s what Thais tend to do all the time LOL 😊 (BTW, “spouse” is pronounced like “spaus”, rhymes with “house” or “Faust”).
6 They can’t understand us. Yes, our English is atrocious. We speak too fast and indistinctly and have bizarre accents. And we either can’t or don’t care to speak Thai accurately. We are in Thailand, so we should be speaking THEIR language. When foreigners come to the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, France (maybe not so much Germany, though) we always expect them to speak OUR language.
7 We don’t want to pay a dowry? Yes, because we don’t understand the significance or necessity of it. Even in Thai culture, some of the women shouldn’t expect a dowry (e.g. if they’ve already been married or have children). Some women (and often their families) take advantage of the gullibility of the farang man, and that makes many of us wary. In fact, in Thai culture many men borrow money from the bank for the weekend to make a show of paying the dowry and then it all gets returned on the Monday! 😲
8 We look at other women? Not really. Maybe if our Thai gf/wife is sullen, disinterested in us, or is overly modest about how she dresses.
9 We drink a lot of alcohol? Yes, many people do. We don’t drink nearly as much as Thai men though. But many men (and some women) drink to excess. It’s a global problem.
10 We don’t spend enough time with our gf/spouse and family? That’s true maybe for younger people. But Thai men rarely spend time with their gf/spouse or family either. In fact, many Thai women PREFER farang men precisely because we tend not to stray as much and prefer to stay at home with the spouse, children. As we can’t usually speak any Thai, it’s a bit pointless to spend any time with the extended family coz there’s nothing to say! Yes, many men work hard too – including Thais (men and women) and don’t always have time to sit around doing nothing with the spouse.
11 We have a strong body odour? Yes. We smell like เต่า (turtle). It’s not because we don’t shower often. It’s because we don’t always use soap (at least according to my wife)!
12 Picky about food? Not really. You’re meeting the wrong kind of guy (or girl) who eats unhealthily, likes fast foods, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, steaks, etc. There are plenty of farang who love Thai food because it’s so much more interesting, diverse and healthy.
13 Cross facial expressions? Maybe. But Thais tend not to smile all the much either. The reason why it appears that way is many of the vowels in Thai can only be accurately enunciated if you smile!
14 Like to go outdoors? Well, it depends on who you ask. Yes, farang don’t seem to care so much about getting burnt – unless you’ve been in Thailand for a while, in which case we get used to staying out of the sun and wearing trousers and long-sleeved shirts and perhaps even a cap. Tourists love to spend time at the beach or in the sun because they usually come from cold, miserable, overcast countries. Many farang also like to play sports (although many Thai women seem to only meet the guys who prefer to watch the sports while drinking gallons of beer!) The sun is brutal and cancerous and ages you very quickly. Look at how old relatively young (middle-aged) people look in places like Israel, South Africa, Australia, etc.

It’s difficult to generalise, because it really depends on who you mix with and how ready you are to explore and meet new, different people.

Thai women place a lot of conditions on us foreigners from western countries, however many of their ways of doing things are considered impolite or disrespectful in western cultures. There are good and bad ways of conducting yourself in both cultures. I had a 7 year relationship with a Thai woman in Bangkok, she was disrespectful to me one time too many and it broke the bond. She was devastated when I broke off the relationship and she tried hard to rekindle it, but the feelings were gone. We have to bend over backwards for their culture, but they don't want to compromise on western culture even though they want a western man.

I am from the USA. Personally I think that it is totally disrespectful to even think about doing something like this to someone much less doing this to someone who don’t even know. It’s like these people have forgotten their upbringing that they were taught. Nobody should have to go through something like this.
