Carbon tax ends: When do you get your last rebate?

Canadians will receive the last carbon rebate later this month as the federal consumer carbon price comes to an end Tuesday.

The final Canada Carbon Rebate (CCR) payments will roll out starting April 22 to Canadians in eight provinces: Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan.

“There will be no further quarterly CCR payments after the April payment,” the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) says on its website.

The CRA is advising Canadians to file their 2024 income tax and benefit return electronically no later than Wednesday to get the payment in April.

“If you file after that, you will receive your final payment once your 2024 return is assessed,” the agency states.

The Climate action incentive payment has been renamed the Canada Carbon Rebate.

The CRA determined your annual entitlement based on the information on file.

Your annual CCR entitlement is $560.00.

So the maximum rebate is $140.00 not $110.00 for anyone watching this video.

This will cost me about $550.00 a year as I paid a grand total of about 10 dollars in carbon tax and received a total of what would have been $560.00 this year in a rebate. Thanks carbon tax crybabies. I hate election years.

Essentially, the province sets a price on carbon emissions and companies can either pay that price into a fund, reduce their emissions or trade emissions credits to comply.

In Alberta, the industrial carbon dollars, primarily collected through the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) Regulation, are used to fund emissions reduction technologies and projects across the province. This includes funding for programs like the Alberta Carbon Capture Incentive Program (ACCIP)

So all the A magas had concerns about carbon tax...you will still be paying (companies will pass the tax to the consumer) BUT industry will get the money NOT the people who need it !!!!
