Brainworx. Get the sound you want on A, click Save at the top. Move to B, get different sound, save. Move to C. Etc... Then switch between the letters until happy...

RetroVibes Preset KB Pop Piano reminds me a lot of the famous Korg M1 Piano sound, used in hundreds of Pop productions.

Hi Mike...
Thanks for another informative video! With regard to the Tone buttons
on the Masterdesk Classic.... I could not hear the difference but apparently,
you use the Tone knob IN CONJUNCTION with the A B C D buttons ...

ie. Select a button based on function listed below and fiddle with the Tone
knob till you like the sound.
From the manual:


You may use the tone stack to adjust the overall sound of your recording to
your liking, and you should try to make it sound similar to reference mixes
of music that is similar to what you are mastering. If you master a rock tune
it is a good idea to check back with a professional CD mix of (for example) a
Foo Fighters song. If you mix a pop song you may want to compare to a
Rihanna CD, etc.

With the buttons labeled A, B, C, D you can choose the behavior of the underlying
tone stack. This makes adjustments very easy while retaining full
control.



Settings A and B allow you to boost or cut all frequencies using the Tone knob.



When using the Tone knob, settings C and D will either emphasize low and
high while reducing mid frequencies or boost the mids while taking away low
and high frequencies.



Setting B uses two resonance filters at 315Hz and 3150Hz.

Setting D has a resonance filter at 315Hz.

Settings A and C do not use resonance filters.


Take some time to experiment with the different settings. The ranges of these
EQ bands are big enough to shape your sound, but even at maximum settings
you are not using a crazy amount of EQ.

@3:15 - The Tone buttons work in conjunction with the Tone knob. Settings A & B allow you to boost or cut all frequencies, while C & D will allow you to reduce mids or emphasis mids by lowering highs & lows.

B uses 2 resonance filters at 315hz & 3150hz
D uses a resonance filter at 315hz
A & C do not use any filters

Hi Mike - Thanks for this video. I'm off to get that Brainworks and perc plugin. One you might like to get your teeth into is Norrland Solo Trumpet. It sounds great, but also has 10 different vibratos, 14 different mutes and 5 different mics... for free!
