In this video I show how the application of ATBC (Acetyltributylcitrate), a plasticizer, can soften a pool toy and give it a rubbery feel. As a warning, the addition of too much plasticizer may weaken the pool toy.

Haha, i'm glad i'm not the only one who likes the really soft toys. Just so much more huggable. Hopefully doing this won't make them unsafe to use in a pool or around children though.

I tweeted at you the other week but not sure if you saw it - Would you be able to show us how to properly deflate and store your toys? Most of us can't leave them inflated all the time and can only get them out every once in a while, so efficient storing is really import. I can never get all of the air out but even when I do, I never know how to roll/fold the toys to store them effectively. Any tips or videos you could release to show this?

Very nice video, however i find it most impressive that you cloned yourself to demonstrate the difference in softness! 😂😂

is every clay softener are contained atbc ? and does color other than transparent will affect the softness of the pvc ? because the local seller in my country only sells other brands of clay softener and out of transparent color option.

Will it recover vinyl fabric that lost original pasteurizers due to time "migration"? Not damaged yet but got crispier then original? And why it needs to be applied from inside, and not just outside? Not sure what side getting more damage with a time. Apart from "overdose" any negative effects in long run?

Hello, i have an inflatable wyvern from hongyi and wanted to know something cause i have a problem.

I live in small place and sometime the nose goes near the wall and scrath it. Now shes very rought on this part of the inflatable and i was thinking to put atbc. How can i make the head like before without putting atbc on all the inflatable ?

Using ATBC often encountered oily and sticky after applied on inflatable 😅

I used ATCB on some of the toys, but still it makes indeed very soft. However the toy gets weaker on the pinched seems and would not support adults on it anymore when fully inflated. However its good use for old toys that lost their elastic properties when being new in box.
