This is How Hansi FLICK Already DOMINATING With Barcelona 😱

Barcelona kicked off their La Liga campaign in one of the most challenging stadiums, Valencia Mestalla, where Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and... Barça, of course, regularly lose points.

This was the first big test for FC Barcelona's new manager, Hansi Flick, and it's worth noting that he managed to accomplish the main task: getting three points from a difficult away match!

The German boss couldn't count on a large number of key players from the first minutes: Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Ansu Fati were absent due to injuries. Ilkay Gundogan allegedly missed the meeting due to a cut eyebrow, though the media has already reported about the German's intention to leave the club. Fermin is still on vacation, while Dani Olmo is not yet registered and has not had many training sessions with the squad. In total, Hans-Dieter was unable to count on 7 starters, plus Pedri, who has just recovered from a left knee sprain...

However, all these factors did not scare Flick at all: “I'm going to trust the young players as much as they deserve - it's incredible to have them in the team,” the coach said after the match.

With no leaders available, the team had to rely on La Masia, a talent pool: for instance, take 17-year-old Marc Bernal, who performed in the Spanish third-tier last season, and on Saturday, in his debut La Liga appearance, the guy stunned everyone with his display on the pitch. To elaborate, he got 94% accurate passes and the reputation of “Sergio Busquets' regen", delivering 49 passes, including 4 long ones, winning 6 duels and making 4 tackles, and even earning a foul call - overall, a very, very strong performance!

Barça is no stranger to shocking the world of football with its outstanding youngsters, and therefore debuts like this one are slowly becoming a regular occurrence.

Another relatively surprising appearance in the starting lineup was made by Marc Casado - the 20-year-old central midfielder had been preparing for the first team since the pre-season tour, so his presence was no surprise. Casado was among the best players of the match, capturing cules' imagination:

'Marc Casado is a tank. Very relentless. He played as a double pivot but was in the opponent's 18 yards so many times against Valencia. He defends like N'Golo Kanté and attacks like Joshua Kimmich'. Well, it costs a lot to receive such comparisons, and these words were essentially repeated by Mundo Deportivo:

''Neither Kimmich nor Kanté, Marc Casadó,” reads the headline of the article, which notes the absolutely brilliant game of the former Barça Atletic captain at the Mestalla. Moreover, the lad created a lot of chances and came close to scoring his first goal at the end of the tie.

Casado played in tandem with Bernal and implemented Flick's tactical ideas with a doubled midfield in defense and moving to the interior position in attack - this way the Catalans often switched from a defensive 4-2-3-1 setup to an attacking 4-3-3. As a result, at Mestalla Marc operated as number 6, number 8, and even number 10, demonstrating his impressive skills in all areas of the pitch. No doubt, here we have a versatile performer, who is already being called “Gavi 2.0" for his huge commitment and productivity.

In other words, the club's bet on youngsters proved to be decisive, since 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, who gave an assist, not to mention Pau Cubarsi, who cleared the ball from the goal-line when the score was 1-0 in favor of Valencia, contributed a lot to the victory. But everyone has gotten used to these guys by now... It is much more interesting to note the debuts of two 22-year-old Barça Atletic graduates who deserved promotion after an impressive last season - we are talking about Pau Victor, who raised a buzz during the pre-season tour of the United States, and Gerard Martín, who replaced the injured Balde. In fact, Martin almost gave an assist when Pedri's shot got blocked, yet Victor was also close to an assist, though Lewandowski's shot went too high!

And speaking of the latter... Robert became another big lever in the game that Flick had already built at Barcelona - the Polish forward exhibited stunning physique and was productive not only up front, bagging a double, but also in defense, when pressing opponents: “He's a complete professional. We all saw him in defense too. That's important for us. We have to defend and attack as a team,” noted Hansi Flick after the game. Meanwhile, cules, shocked by such a dynamic start of the 35-year-old forward in the new campaign, created memes like this one - well, indeed, Lewandowski promises to be the striker capable of netting more than 20 goals in the league under Flick's guidance.

im sorry, i didnt see this lewandowski in the match. he misplaced almost every pass, had little impact on the ball apart from being at the right place and the right time and he killed some attack momentum by delaying a few passes. Overall, he was ok. he did the job we needed him to do, but separate from that, he was bad
