This interview was outstanding, prescient, and I wish all Americans would heed Koppel's cautions about the necessity for professional journalism to sustain democracy.

Ted Koppel, thank you sir. You are an amazing hero for all of us who remember how it was during the Nixon trial. You remind us of true journalistic standards that we miss.

This should be played in our schools as a lesson as to the way true journalism and our news stations should present the news and keep their opinions for the editorial section only

The level of objective journalism he's talking about is almost non-existent nowadays.

I respect this great man and believe he owns 101 percent integrity.

It is VERY sad how many people will NOT see this interview. If this were an interview bashing some politician on the left or right from a major "news" source it would have hundreds of views and comments. WAY too many people do not go out of their way to get other sources of news, or watch interviews like this.

Ted Koppel - what brilliant words and reflections on reporting! The era of truth (facts) has long evaporated - this legendary reporter fades into the mist of the past, as a fading memory of what honest reporting used to be .... this depth of character and dependability has been lost; question is, can it be regained? How?

The fact that he did this interview 9 months ago and it’s playing out the exact why he imagined show how much of a media genius he is.

The most top notch interview I have heard in a long, long time. If only all journalists had the integrity, wisdom, and vision of Ted Koppel. Bravo, Ted. But seriously less kudos for the interviewer at Amanpour.

He has always been and remains one of my heroes, a most respected and humbly straightforward intellect that takes no sides, a factual fanatic ( which is a good thing) . This interview should be taught everywhere.

Just glad to listen to my most favorite journalist, Mr. Ted Koppel. The sound of his voice and ABC News Nightline, the Gold Standard. Thank you, sir!
