Hoxie Ham Festival - Amateur Radio in Arkansas

The Pressman visits Hoxie Arkansas to see all the ham radio enthusiasts. Ham radio plays a vital role during disasters and Arkansas ranks very high with many well educated trained radio transmitters. Getting an amateur radio license is not as hard as it used to be, opening doors to just about anyone wanting to get on the air with just some basic tests to pass. One thing is certain, there is nothing amateur about the equipment or the operators that master this interesting craft.

NEArkansan here. I was just wondering if you were in any clubs, what frequency you normally run on, and is there any ham fests coming up in our area? Jonesboro?
I am studying up, to get my ticket asap, so I hope to get it at the next ham fest I can attend. Than I will be loading up on gear. How do you find out about the fests, ect?
