Auberge Anniversary in MasterChef Canada | S04 E08 | Full Episode | MasterChef World

As the losing team, Aaron, Thea and Miranda were given 45 minutes to create a Moroccan-inspired Vegetable Tajine served with herbed couscous, using an array of vegetables and 28 unmarked spices. Miranda made the best dish and she was sent to safety. Thea's dish lacked spices, while Aaron's dish suffered the opposite from being overpowered with a heavy use of cloves. To everyone's surprise, the judges gave Thea, who had been struggling with self-confidence issues throughout the season, the opportunity to hand her spot in the Top 5 to Aaron if she felt she was not ready to move forward in the competition. When Thea affirmed her desire to stay, Aaron was eliminated.

Very honorable of Aaron to praise Miranda out loud in front of everyone. He really meant it from his heart and you could tell it was very much appreciated and Miranda deserved the respect

I understand why Thea saved herself in this ep. Thea's using her emotions as her weapon and Aaron's being cocky that he let his team down with his decision during the Burger challenge in which she is under Aaron's team. He even repeated it on the Auberge's anniversary challenge ep. It was just Thea's 'strategy' is more effective than Aaron's. And I think it is more easy to correct someone's underconfidence and emotion than the selfishness, overconfidence, and ambitious. I, too, misjudged her with being so emotional but watching this ep made me realized that he deserves to go. Both are great cooks and I have no doubt with that. Aaron's got hired in Chef Michael's restaurant and Thea proved herself again in S7 that she can place again as the frontrunner of the competition. I'm just talking about the character and integrity of the cooks which is also important to flourish in this industry.

Okay but Aaron's tajin was awful. And I have to say that because clove is really strong. To give people an idea, gingerbread cookies, a single batch, require an 1/8 tsp. He grinded 4 whole cloves. That's really strong. It must've tasted nasty.

I respect Teas skills because she was a finalist in two seasons but god she should’ve been eliminated here.

The judges verbatim said the only reason Thea would go home is if she eliminated herself. Aaron still made the worst dish.

However I will say now would've been a far more appropriate time for a double elimination, not two episodes ago with Matt and Justine.
