Lidia Thorpe to be suspended from parliament

Labor and the Coalition have just moved a motion to suspend Lidia Thorpe from the Senate for the rest of this sitting week after she appeared to throw documents at One Nation leader Pauline Hanson during a heated stoush in Senate on Wednesday.

The hysterical scenes in the Senate began on Wednesday morning over Ms Hanson questioning Fatima Payman’s citizenship and whether or not she has done enough to prove she was not a dual citizen of Australia and Afghanistan.

The former Greens Senator later ripped up documents regarding Ms Payman’s Senate eligibility and tossed them at Ms Hanson before she flipped the bird while leaving the chamber.

Fatima Payman needs to be made to apologise to Pauline Hanson. Senator Hanson has sat in the Senate for longer than Payman has been in Australia. The lack of respect and cruel abuse which spewed forth from Payman's mouth this afternoon aimed Senator Hanson was appauling. Both Payman and Thorpe have to go.
