I'm surprised the 540i sticks beyond 160km/h. I've have a '89 E34 M5 3.6(Red), I've killed some 540i and none ever stuck this well! Btw. Becker Audio in E34 is the perfect match!

Bonus with a 540i is you don't have such an expensive engine to sort if anything goes wrong.

My dad had a manual 518i E34 bought it new :D Not autmatic however .it was SO slow but damn I thought it was fast when I took my license :D

Agree with BSA0. I had a '91 3.5 and bought a '98 e39 540 6-speed. The M5 felt so much quicker. At least that's my memory.

Did I say it was a bad race? NO. Did I say the cars sucked? NO. All I said was it was a slow race.I know that speed isn't everything. I appreciate cars like nobody else whether it be a Mini Cooper or an M5. I've never put a dent in a door or scratched a car, and I don't eat like a fucking slob in cars. My favorite car of all time is actually the Aston Martin DB5 and you don't see that car doing 200 mph do you?
