Tesla Beat Apple to AirPower (Tesla Wireless Charging Platform)

Back in December, Tesla announced the launch of a $300 multi-device wireless charger able to charge three Qi devices at one time. There are notable parallels to Apple's now-canceled AirPower charging mat, so we thought we'd check it out to see what it's like.

What about the power loss / efficiency? How much of the watts it takes actually ends up in the device(s) charged?

But it doesn't do apple watch. So they didnt beat apple to anything.

With Apple unable to produce these because of overheating and Tesla’s reputation with batteries catching fire, I’ll pass on this…

$300…. No thanks. I’ll find the coil

Thx for the review

Ya not paying $300 no matter who makes it. Are we so lazy we can’t even find the charging magnet anymore?

How many do you think they'll sell? I think that apple was right to scrap the product. $300 for 3x 15W charging is pretty insane. I'm happy with the dual port type c charger and individual cables.

I know it says it can charge 3 Qi devices at one time but what does happen if you put 4 or even 6 Airpods on it?

This has to be the first-est world problem in existence.
Connecting to magsafe is hard.

Never understood the craze around witless charging. It’s much easier to still use it while charging with a cord. That would be annoying to have to lay it on a mat while using. Are we that lazy we can’t plug a simple cord into our devices lol?

You can get bellies 3 in 1 for $100. This design looks like a high school student did it.

Actually I like 7.5w limit, all my chargers are 7.5w, and I'm happy with them, the phone is not insanely hot :) I tried using original magsafe charger, but didn't like at all.

Finally Tesla will get their phone out soon. I hope I’ll be getting one.

Oh come on! The BIG AirPower feature was laying your Apple Watch on it which this doesn’t do. And since it’s from Tesla that means quality will be terrible and customer support will suck.

Really, reviewers should stop just lapping up the press releases Tesla sends out. Airpower died because (a) Apple Watch coil size and (b) overheating. If anything beat apple it's Nomad and its Base Station which was released in *checks note* February 2020

Nope, not worth that price tag to me.

Not really Tesla. It’s an FreePower charger with a Tesla skin and branding

Sounds like a waste of coil… and it will be outdated as soon as Qi 2 is implemented in new smartphones

Yeaaah I’m perfectly happy with my Belkin 3 in 1 Pad and it costs half of that Tesla charger. I don’t like the fact that you can’t charge an Apple Watch on it, when my Belkin one does.

I wish the pad inside the Tesla was a bit more reliable

So basically they just stuck a bunch of coils in it anyone could build this at home nothing revolutionary here
