Water Bottle Wise~
I recommend the 'Coloral' bottle, it's under $60 (I got it on sale from Boston General Store) and is completely stainless steel (save for a very simple foodgrade silocone o-ring) is double walled, and has a handsome shape and details. It was originally a bicycle bottle in the late 40's and was brought back in recent years. It's probably the most important thing I own. Every time I go out, I have cool water and I bought it so every time I go out, I don't buy sugary drinks, or plastic bottles.
It's paid for itself many times over!
Granted, it doesn't hold the volume of other bottles, but to me I actually prefer that as it's easier to bring around

If you travel with your laptop quite often, please know that there are powerbanks available that can easily charge your laptop on the go as well as your phone. Look for those that can produce 100W of output power. Every known brand has them available right now.

How about a comb or a clothes iron? That seems way more useful than all the shoe related stuff since I haven't worn a suit or dress shoes since my brother's wedding 5 years ago.

Dopp kits are the one thing I don't travel with simply because they take up too much space. The individual items are easier to fit inside luggage when they are not in a big bulky container like a dopp kit. You can take something equivalent or that collapses completely to take no extra space and fill it up on arrival to keep things neat in a hotel room. A velvet drawstring bag suits me.
