now that I think about it...Lilith's part of the deal is probably that she *won't* enterfere, because she's supposed to be the sinners' hope. taking away hope makes them easier for the exterminators to deal with...so Lute has a lot of nerve being all "demons are rising up against us, go do something or lose this paradise we gave you" because Lilith did stick to her end of the deal...it just made no difference in the end because the only part of the deal involving her daughter is that Charlie is safe from exterminators...so Charlie is allowed to give hope to hell.

Awesome song.
Lute was probably struck by grief so hard, that she doesn't care who she was speaking to. Lilith can easily just bend lute over like the child she sees her as, and spank some discipline and humility into her.
