In my country (Bulgaria, which is in East Europe) we collect and recycle caps from bottles for a charitable cause that aims to buy medical equipment for hospitals with outdated equipment. In 7 years, we bought 22 baby incubatos, 10 medical apparatus, 7 children's ambulances and one off-road ambulance were installed.

This cap was not born to avoid people throwing caps away on the roads, it serves to facilitate and improve the recycling of bottles. Always throw away the bottle with the cap. The recycling plants have system that recognize the type of plastic scanning the cap.

I think it's also to make it easier for people to recycle the bottle with a lid. Because in Germany the bottle recycle maschine won't accept it, if the bottles aren't with their lid on
