I see two foods that are like a thing you can locally get here in Germany and in some places are very traditional, like they've been around for like 30 years, except here they don't stuff the pretzels, they cut them in half, spread cream cheese on it and sprinkle some chives and then you put the other half on there, kind of like a sandwich but it's a pretzel, and funnel cakes (at least in my region) are always served on Christmas markets with some applesauce or just sprinkled with powdered sugar
They're called striebele

It's always funny how American companies find a way to make the simple things fancy, but growing up here, no fancy dress up is gonna taste as good as the real deal, reminds you of simpler times
