The global plan to get Covid vaccines in poorer countries

The World Health Organization says no one is protected from this pandemic until everyone is protected. They are relying on a global scheme to share out vaccine supplies, by helping poorer nations secure doses at little or no cost.

A scheme which is too big, and too important to fail.

Why are these people not advocating for the obvious? Open source the vaccine and allow for generic manufacturing now. Taxpayers funded the development of the two vaccine makers both received a grant from their respective countries, the US($2.5B) & Germany ($443M), but none of this money had conditions attached that require companies to transfer all technology to other vaccine manufacturers, so we can speed up the process?

Poorer countries?? Not being able to feed millions of children is poverty. I think the UK needs to revaluate what wealth actually is.

Take care of yourself, first. I had been working remotely for a UK based e commerce company but they had to lay me off becuz of the cash crunch. Finally got a job over here in my own city.

Poor countries need to be forcibly reformed because their leaders are filthy rich. It is not the duty of others then to bail them out when they 'cry wolf'. I am tired of this. What happened to developing a sustainable world? When these countries are unsustainable. If we are truly global then there should be no exclusions. We cannot continue repeating errors and atrocities of the past. Every-time there is crisis aid is dumped and then the problem is forgotten until there is a new crisis.

India is the country to look up to when it comes to vaccine-sharing generosity is considered. We have set an example to developed countries that India is much more than how it is perceived by foreign nations.
