2017-04-14 Carfreitag Nürburgring traffic jam

April 14th Friday is known as "Carfreitag" aka Car Friday in Germany. This is a huge weekend for auto enthusiasts... and it seems they all descend on the Nürburgring on this day. People set up lawn chairs to admire the cars driving by.

That's a Gumpert Apollo at the end of the video. I've never seen one in person before! It was produced in Germany in limited numbers and never sold outside of Europe.

I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours moving less than a mile... As much as I admire nice cars, I think I will try to avoid this event next time. Here's a short video of the epic traffic jam.
