My original one was octagonal with a white lid. It came with a contrasting dye so you could do a color change or the explosion. I like the idea of having a black lid, I think that is a good addition.

I can't even remember when I bought my dice bomb. I still have it. Mine has a red die too, so you can do a color transpo after you explode the white die. I think a lot of people sell this trick short, if you practice it you can leave people scratching their heads. I love mine.

I am surprised you said you were not as familiar with this trick. I know this trick. I love how visual it is! I think the reason it was sold as a big black die transforming to small white dice was because it was more visual. Simple and amazing!
