In 25 years of working in film production both Features and TV when A “Screenplay” is not sold or in production it is called a “SCREENPLAY” once in production it is referred to as a “SCRIPT” . In fact I have never heard of it called a screenplay once production has started. In simple terms a script has gone thru development.
