The saddest thing is Sylas believed in Demacia the most, in fact, he turned himself in because his parents claimed it was honourable and noble for a demacian to do so. He did that and got used, manipulated, and treated lesser than anyone in Demacia. The saddest thing is, after all, that when he dies in game he says 'Take me home..' meaning back to Demacia, he does love his home country he just feels cheated and upset that his own kinfolk couldn't treat him and mages as much equality and respect as nobles, royals, and normal commoners. Lastly, to make this more depressing when Sylas' dies he says "At last... no walls." meaning the prison walls surrounding him, all this entails that no matter how much he suffered as long as he wasn't still in prison and died there, he regrets nothing. (Meanwhile, Riot games makes him look evil and a villain)
