Neither have a real solution to poverty and homelessness. $15/hour is not a solution. It places the burden on small businesses who will be forced to reduce the working hours of employees, regardless of what labor unions say. If labor unions give them an ultimatum, they will just have to close their business. $15/hour also doesn't help people who are homeless in places like L.A. or San Francisco, who already receive $15/hour or close to it, but can't afford rent costs which are 10 TIMES higher than other places in the midwest.

Andrew Yang had the only real solution. And that is, to provide Universal Basic Income of $1, 000/month to every citizen over 18 years old, using a Value Added Tax which the rich would pay a larger portion of. It would also be paid through increased consumer spending. Bernie talks about income inequality and the hardship of the poor, but doesn't want to endorse UBI. To make it worse, under his tax plan, as a poor person I would pay $112/year MORE. He seems more intent on punishing the rich (and the poor), than doing what is best.

The economy is stronger when the middle class is stronger. Giving the poor another $12K/year, elevates them to the middle class. UBI is a simple solution to so many problems, and improves the economy.

It also would have solved the current crisis we are in with the coronavirus, where millions are facing possible eviction because it has affected their workplace and ability to make money. Not to mention having enough money to buy food for a month until the pandemic has run its course.
