According to leaks, Part 3 will take inspiration from 2022's Stray. Players will take control of a young puppy instead of a cat. The protagonist is rumoured to be on a quest to avenge its mother, Alice, whom Ellie killed in The Last of Us Part 2. The game is said to be an experience akin to The Littlest Hobo fused with The Walking Dead. Writer, Director and VP of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckman, is looking to continue the profound themes of loss and the cycle of revenge, this time however from the perspective of 'womans' best friend. It will fascinating to see whether, this time, the protagonist will see the job through. The Last of Us: Part 3 is expected to launch in 2025.

The Last of Us Part 2 was the most acclaimed game in history in terms of awards, both from critics and audiences, and sold at least 10 million so far. Everyone's free to hate the game, but living in this alternate reality where nobody liked it is delusional. Also, Druckman didn't say they're not making it, he said leakers are often not trustworthy. My guess is they'll do a game between the games like they did with Uncharted 4, allowing enough time for Part 3 to take similar leaps in the evolution of the medium as Parts 1 and 2 did

I liked Part 2 because of what you could do in the game, I'm a big fan of stealth and taking out people without alerting others and things turning into a fire fight. I didn't like that they killed off Joel, the "trans" character that added nothing to the game, but I did like the message the game put out about revenge and the circle of violence. I would like a Part 3 to put an end to the series, perhaps Ellie goes looking for people who can help make a cure.

Regardless how you feel about part 2 yall act like they couldn't tell a different story in a different place with new characters. Not saying it'll be any better than 2 but at least they can lay the events of part 2 to rest.
