Very nice receiver, I had a Marantz back in the 80's it was HUGE! Excellent sound quality & it would not die, best thing is I sold it years later & got what I paid for it. Great video Dave.

I've bought one about two months ago. The silver/gold version. It has replaced my 20 year old Harman Kardon set in the living room. I've connected my Cambridge CXNv2 streamer digitally to it. My TV/BluRay to the other optical input. And my MacBook Air to the analog input so I can watch series which I have stored locally with sound coming from the Marantz.

Speaker wise I've bought a set of brand new Dali Spektor 2's and I've reused my old JVC subwoofer. I'm very happy with the sound coming from it in my little apartments living room.

HEOS is ok-ish. I'm not that fond of the TuneIn integration. It does support Tidal and Deezer, but it doesn't support Qobuz. Which I also have a subscription to. Apple Music plays nicely through AirPlay. I like the HEOS interface, but I prefer the functionality of my Cambridge's Stream Magic app.

Roon can also access the Marantz, but only through AirPlay.

Yes, it is very theoretical. "It looks fantastic"- yes it looks on paper, but how does it really behaves? Why e.g. HEOS app has so low rating? How does connectivity work with e.g. speakers? I can read specifications on some web side, I don't need audiobook for it.

I own the 'twin brother' from Denon (the Ceol N10). I'm very impressed with it, especially for the sound quality. By the way, the remote is identical!

i think i will buy this Marantz because its play FLAC lossless audio, sadly my denon RCDM39 not support it

I am appalled by the fact not a single review of the MarantZ M-CR612 mentions the lack of resume memory on the CD player. For any serious listener still using the shiny discs that's a deal breaker. Even Discmans have that feature. Not one reviewer, anywhere.

hi there, try change audio format on tv to PCM, if you have dolby digital or other you dont get sound to your hifi thru optical cable.

Hello, I have the 611 and love it. The only niggle I have is airplay it tends to kick out my MacBook more than phone also once it does this I need to do quick set up to reconnect. Not sure if it’s just my model or any advice to fix it would be great.

You’ve probably worked this out now but the problem turning on due to optical on tv. Set sleep timer and it’ll turn of at set time when no sound is playing.

I have Marantz M-CR612 for a while now and I just bought turntable (Audio-Technica LP60X) with a built in pre-amp and when I connect them there is no sound. I'm connecting it to the Analog In of the Marantz but nothing happens (Line Output is selected on the turntable). Do you have any suggestion what to do and how to solve this issue?
