Hot mic catches presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy call Steve Baker 'a c***' after heated interview

Presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been caught on a hot mic calling the MP Steve Baker a 'c***'.

The Channel Four main anchor came off air after a robust interview with the Secretary for Northern Ireland in an evening Tory Party turmoil.

Mr Guru-Murthy could be heard defending his line of questioning before muttering "what a c***".

In a statement on Twitter the presenter said: "While it was not broadcast that word in any context is beneath the standards I set myself and I apologise unreservedly."

"I appreciate you apologising. Thank you." Mr Baker replied in the post comments.

I watched the C4 interview last night and never heard that exchange. It was 'obviously' a rival news team recording audio in Downing street that overheard Krishnan's part of the conversation (there was no audio from Baker).
Krishnan obviously forgot he wasn't in the studio...the walls have ears!!
