Aussie here, sat with or very close to the barmy army in this series and the most recent one and they are by far the most fun supporters going around. Very welcoming and were happy to cop and give back any sledging in good humour. They very nearly had me switching sides when the Australian army (opposite side of the stadium) reached a new low and sung 'Hey micky you're so fine' only to be drowned out by the Jimmy Anderson song!

A lot of Australian fans are fickle and only like it when we're winning. I remember being there on Boxing Day 2010, when we were skittled for less than 100, then Cook and Strauss put on over 150 by stumps. I stayed til the end, coz that's what you've gotta do, and support your team. Most of the Aussie fans had left by then.
